Abstract
- The article reports on the developments of continuous data protection (CDP) systems. However, the article notes that CDP has fialed as a standalone product because most information technology (IT) managers were not willing to forgo their proven backup software and backup methods for a new and unproven technology. The article also discusses the uses and benefits of CDP in various industries. It also adds that despite its ominous start, CDP has been incorporated into data protection products and its role is likely to expand.
