Abstract
- The article focuses on the effort of the citizens in Elkader, Iowa, developing their beloved community after a destructive crises they experienced in the 1980s and 1990s. According to the article, they worked on solutions starting with the town's attributes such as a historic past, scenic beauty, and vibrant community spirit. It reveals that community leaders sponsored a funeral parade down the Main Street which was led by Dixieland band and citizens wear smiling face mask and colorful costumes.
