Abstract

The article focuses on leadership development and how school leaders learn in action. It is believed that learning about leadership and developing leadership skills are effectively accomplished in the real world of one's school, where leadership learning has the potential to be the most rewarding. It is argued that effective leadership is connected to improve student learning. Through immersing students in their own school's story, there instills a deeper understanding of the school improvement process, the nature and necessity of collaborative forms of leadership, and the underpinnings of effective and varied leadership throughout a school.
