Abstract: The article presents a study which focuses on the successful treatment of solar urticaria with anti-immunoglobulin E therapy. It states that solar urticaria is identified by intense pruritus and wheal and flare-type skin reactions at the locations exposed to sunlight. The case of a 52-year-old caucasian female patient with this disease is also discussed. It is pointed out that the pathogenesis of this disease is still not yet fully understood.
