Abstract
- The article focuses on signal transduction by the granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), interleukin (IL)-3 and IL-5 receptors. It describes IL-3, IL-5 and GM-CSF as hematopoietic growth factors produced by activated T cells and regulate hematopoiesis. It notes that the receptors for GM-CSF, IL-3 and IL-5 are composed of a cytokine specific α chain and the common β chain, β<subscript>c</subscript>.
