Screening of Ionic Liquids to Capture CO2 by COSMO-RS and Experiments.

This article discusses the development of ionic liquids to support the sequestration of ionic liquids, which consist of cations and anions. A screening process applying Henry's law to the classification of ionic liquids is described. Results indicating that the use of the anion tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate (FEP) to capture carbon dioxide gas for reuse are presented. Experiments using an intelligent gravimetric analyser to compare the effectiveness of FEP to that of other ionic liquids are considered.
