Abstract
- Chapter LXIII of the book "The History of the Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire," by Edward Gibbon, is presented. The civil wars and the ruin of the Greek Empire is discussed. Information is provided on the reigns of king Andronicus, and the regency, revolt, and reign of king John Palaeologus. The establishment of a Genoese colony at Galata and their war with city of Constantinople is also mentioned.
