Abstract
- Chapter II of Part II of the book "Catherine de' Medici" is presented. It explores how queen Catherine de' Medici spread wide the wings of her genius, and boldly flown to the heights of the Medici and Valois policy and tracing once more the mighty plans which terrified in earlier days her husband Henri II. It also points out on the desire of Catherine to maintain Catholicism in the kingdom and to stay united, for it is the only bond that holds France, Spain, and Italy.
