Abstract

Chapter 9 of book XVII from "The Antiquities of the Jews," by Flavius Josephus and translated by William Whiston is presented. It explores the sedition raised by the people against Archelaus. The people tended to alleviate the miseries of the deceased. Archelaus was offended by the importunity that raised by his people. Archelaus decided to sail toward Rome to meet King Caesar where he declared his merit for the kingdom.
