Abstract

Book 11 of "The Odyssey" is presented. It highlights Ulysses' mourning of his dead comrades and the souls of the people he loves. In Oceanus, where he sufficiently prayed for the dead, two sheep were slain by him as he let the blood run into the trench. After, the ghost of his comrade Elpenor appeared, whose body was left in the house of Circe, then came the ghost of Theban Teiresias followed by his mother's.
