Abstract

Chapter 52 of the book "North and South," Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell is presented. It explores the presence of Mr. John Thornton at the Harvey Street to talk business with Mr. Henry Lennox, however was not around so Margaret fae him herself. It highlights Mr. John's proposal of love to Margaret, which she did not rejected, rather, she accepted it. Mr Thornton showed Margaret a dried roses, in which he picked at Helstone to visit the place that molds Margaret of what and who she is.
