Abstract

In this paper, we propose a complex variable boundary element method for two-dimensional potential problems with one-dimensional periodicity. In the presented method, we reduce the potential problem of interest to the boundary integral equation problem for a complex analytic function where an extension of Cauchy’s integral formula for periodic analytic functions is regarded as a Fredholm integral equation and, by solving a discretized equation of the boundary integral equation, we obtain an approximate solution.
