Abstract
- The article investigates the increasingly early onset of puberty in girls. Although the media's portrayal of eroticized girlhood is reported as affecting girls' self-image, the situation is presented as more complex than media-driven. The article concludes with a reminder that the adult world is helping perpetuate the sexualized culture in which young girls are developing.
