Abstract

The article presents tips on cooking pumpkins. Belonging to the same family of gourds that includes cucumbers and melons, pumpkins served as an important source of food for Indians and settlers. Heirloom varieties, such as Small Sugar and Winter Luxury, are recommended for cooking purposes. Cooking pumpkins is similar to cooking any winter squash.
