Abstract
- The article offers commentary about Hurricanes Gustav and Katrina that have ravaged New Orleans, Louisiana, and the reaction to these natural disasters from the U.S. presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. The author points out that it took the approach of Hurricane Gustav to make Katrina a presidential campaign issue, and that neither candidate has joined Levees.org's demand for an independent commission to ascertain why the levees failed.
