Abstract
- The article looks at the use of narratives in the mainstream media to present voters with a story for U.S. presidential candidates. The author focuses on the narrative surrounding Democratic nominee Barack Obama. The narratives attached to previous candidates are discussed, including Michael Dukakis, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. Obama's roots in Kansas are the focus of his personal narrative.
