Abstract
- The article discusses the role of conflict between overlapping regulators in the freezing of medium term note (MTN) issuance in the Chinese domestic market, according to senior financial lawyer Fang Jian. Regulation of China's bond market is split between the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII). The People's Bank of China is likely to take a back seat, monitoring only the commercial paper market.
