Abstract: The article discusses essential tectonics and the influence of Arthur Erickson of architecture in Vancouver. This paper focuses on the contributions of Erickson to the discourse of urbanism in architecture in Canada. It highlights the tensions experienced in Erickson's architecture in national and local scope which also was his way of searching essence in his profession.
