Abstract

The article discusses the laws of liability for injury on the premises of museums, and demonstrates why a hazard survey is the most important safeguard against liability for museums. It is said that common law and civil law jurisdictions have established same rules that govern the status of persons entering places of entertainment or education, and the resulting liability of the owners. It is cited that there must be safety inspection of museum premises and exhibits to protect against money loss, and to have some corrective actions.
