Abstract

The author reflects on the abundance of modern communication available for 911 call centers in the U.S. He argues that the primary problem confronting the centers in the country is its analog platforms, which could only handle few people with cellular telephones. He cites that the future is to convert public-safety answering points (PSAPs) to Internet Protocol (IP)-based.
