This article offers information on the domestic political scene in Pakistan as of August 2008. Particular focus is given to the attitude of the U.S. towards Pakistan's five-month-old civilian government. There is disagreement among political leaders over the reinstatement of dismissed Supreme Court judges. In addition, there is increasing security problems in Baluchistan province.
