Abstract: The article discusses three papers published within the issue related to faith-based organizations. The topics of these papers include the role of faith-based organizations in fighting social distress in urban areas of the Netherlands, the relations between religion and development in Peru and about the alliances between religions and labor unions and the invocation of religion to establish moral authority and political legitimacy in Western democracies.
