The present and future of glaucoma treatment.

Abstract: The article discusses the present and future of glaucoma treatment. Different treatments used at present are: ocular hypotensive medical treatment, laser surgery and incisional surgery. Before considering the various treatments for glaucoma, the author advises ophthalmologists not to forget the main therapeutic goal: to prevent significant visual impairment in a patient's lifetime.
