The authors reflect on the launch of the Middle East Journal of Culture and Communication (MEJCC). They point out that the role of the journal is to study the transformations in culture, communication, and politics in the Middle East. A brief overview of the history of the region is presented. The authors believe that the only way to understand the complexity of the world is through interdisciplinary.
