Abstract

The article offers an economic outlook for South Korea. The Bank of Korea declared that they would intervene to strengthen the currency in order to curb inflation. It is expected that the government is prepared to shed part of the country's foreign reserve pile to overcome current woes to fight inflation. The amount of the reserve makes the country less vulnerable to a speculative attack on its currency.
