The article describes the plant life growing in late summer in the Bakuriani Basin, located in the Minor Caucasus Mountains, south of the main Caucasus range in the Soviet Republic of Georgia. Based on Zacharov's study, the Caucasus Mountains are divided into the forest belt, subalpine belt and alpine belt. While mixed coniferous-deciduous, beech, pine and forest meadows are found in the forest belt, scattered birch with high grass, dry meadows with scattered pine and high grass meadows are dominant in subalpine belt. Meanwhile plant species found in the alpine belt include rhododendron, alpine meadows of medium grass, alpine carpet of low grass and mountain steppe meadows.
