ECOLOGY OF FRESHWATER ALGAE.

The article discusses research being done on the ecology of freshwater algae. It references separate studies by C. O. Chambers and J. Comère which appeared in the 1912 issue of "Missouri Botanical Garden" and the 1913 issue of "Bulletin de la Société Botanique de France," respectively. The paper by Chambers attempted to enquire into some of the relation of algae and their surroundings by growing the algae under governable conditions in the laboratory, in addition to field observations. The second paper aimed to bring together the facts and observations to justify the statement that freshwater algae adapt themselves to the different conditions of the medium.
