Abstract
- The article discusses a research paper on the distribution and ecology of Spartina Townsendii. It describes the general habit and mode of growth of the grass specie. Details are presented with regard to the rapid spread of the grass, including accidental introduction from a foreign country and orgin by mutation from Spartina stricta. It has been found that its chief domain is the mud-flats from one to three feet below highwater mark, where the changes it has brough about are remarkable. Uses of the grass include thatching and mulching.
