Poster Presentations.

This article presents information about a poster presentation entitled "A New Approach Toward Fall Risk Assessment for Elderly People," by Masumi Nakamura and Yukiko Oya of Saga University, Japan. The presentation questions whether the current assessment for falling propensities in the elderly is sufficient and offers a new screening test that includes risk factors associated with tripping. The study examined the availability of the Recognition of Maximum Stride Length test as a new screening test and also attempted to analyze the relationship between motor control of the lower limb when older people step over obstacles under restricted view conditions.
