The article investigates contemporary and changing component group patterns of land use. The authors aim to interpret the nature and significance of trends in landscape planning. In this context, potential changes in central areas arising from different aspects are discussed. Researchers examine the historical growth of cities, city centres and settlement pattern generally. These will be needed to elicit those factors of city growth and organization which explained present day patterns and determined central area activities.
