Abstract

The authors reflect on the essence of public engagement in setting health care priorities in Canada. The authors believe that the public engagement in health care keeps the principle of democracy, improves public trust in health care system and provides a perspective on the values and priorities of the community. They presented a table showing the barriers on public engagement in setting health care priorities and the responses.
