Abstract
- When a reactor at the Chernobyl atomic energy plant in Ukraine caught fire, it sends radioactive clouds across large part of Europe. A hastily constructed concrete cover dubbed as the sarcophagus was constructed to contain the remnants of the destroyed reactor. The article examines the consequences of the world's largest nuclear catastrophe and the long-awaited agreement for engineering a new object shelter in Chernobyl. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
