Abstract

This article offers a look at the performance of the foreign exchange market in Asia of May 19, 2008. Record high crude oil and food prices pushing inflation higher have driven the decline of Asian foreign exchange. The Chinese yuan have appreciated against the U.S. dollar. The Indonesia rupee and Philippine peso have declined against the U.S. dollar. Meanwhile, Thailand's baht have a appreciate a little against the U.S. dollar.
