Abstract

The article discusses how to determine ammo power requirements imposed upon pistols in gun competitions. The Power Factor (PF) is used to determine the relative power of the load employed. It is computed by multiplying the bullet weight by the velocity and dividing that figure by 1,000. Any figure between 125 and 164.9 is a minor caliber, while 165 and over is a major caliber. Minor and major calibers are allowed in all divisions, with the exception of IDPA CDP.
