Abstract

The author offers insights on the lessons that convenient care clinic operators can learn from the bankruptcy of Medical Marts. According to the author, retailers play a role in reaching the 18-patients per day threshold at in-store clinics so to prevent backers from pulling out their funds. The author suggests that the professional in charge of an in-store clinic should be charismatic and talkative in order to drive customer traffic. He believes that the lack of a targeted marketing plan will not make a convenient care business model successful.
