Abstract
- The article presents a study on the negative peer perceptions of obese children in the classroom environment. In the study, reports of behavioral reputation by peers, teachers and the individual and peer reports of social acceptance, nonsocial attributes and health interference of 90 obese youth were obtained. The researchers conclude that clinically referred obese youth had peer relations different from nonoverweight youth, with obese youth being more socially withdrawn.
