THE EFFECT OF COMPETITION BY ADULT ZYGOPHYLLUM DUMOSUM BOISS. ON SEEDLINGS OF ARTEMISIA HERBA-ALBA ASSO IN THE NEGEV DESERT OF ISRAEL.

The article presents a study on the effect of competition by the adult Zygophyllum dumosum boiss. on the seedlings of Artemisia herba-alba asso located in the Negev Desert in Israel. This study focuses on plant competition in desert communities producing a detailed account on the role of plants. The occurrence of competition in selected species of desert plants are emphasized in this paper. It was conducted in the Negev Desert of Israel where transition zones between Saharo-Sindian and Irano-Turanian phytogeographical territories exist.
