Abstract

The article focuses on the study conducted which highlights the investigation on the features of phytoplankton at River Severn and River Stour in England. The study highlights the general description, data on the chemical composition and detailed analyses of the components of phytoplankton. It also mentions that the prevailing algae of the phytoplankton in both rivers have manifested small centric diatoms of the genera Cyclotella and Stephanodiscus during spring and summer. Further, it reveals that the study has featured on the possible relatedness between phytoplankton and filter-feeding benthic animals in both rivers.
