Abstract

The article describes the study concerning the quantitative morphology and ecology of Eriophorum angustifolium Roth in Great Britain. Eriophorum angustifolium Roth occurs throughout the cool temperate regions of the northern hemisphere as a constituent of the plant communities of bog and damp moorland and as a colonizer of shallow pools on peat and of wet peat surfaces. The study indicates that rhizome measurements vary with soil moisture wherein gravity has some effect on the position of buds and the development of rhizomes.
