Abstract
- The article discusses the ions found from three peat bogs in Poland. It states that the waters of Polish Sphagnum bog have slightly higher average concentrations of sulphuric acid than the waters of floristically comparable ombrogenous bogs of the British Isles. Analyses of major ions likewise reveal that the British Isles is much richer in sodium chloride as might be expected from their oceanic situation. Moreover, charts depicting climatic data for areas in which bogs are situated are also presented.
