Abstract

The article describes the habitats of land Mollusca in Great Britain. The normal food for Mollusca includes decayed remains of the higher plants, fungi, lichens, algae and dead leaves. It is stated that the occurrence of any snail or slug is determined by its history, its geographical distribution and the nature of its habitat. Some of the Mollusca species living in wet places include Agriolimax laevis, Zonitoides nitidus and Pupa anglica while those living in dry places include Helix virgata, H. caperata and H. cartusiana. It discusses the influence of man on Mollusca.
