Abstract
- The article presents the authors' comments on a study proposing that epidemic disease is the most likely agent responsible for amphibian declines in Australian rain forests by W. F. Laurance, published in the current issue. They state that Laurance has only focused on a virus as the pathogen likely to affect the animals, that were collected from the declining populations in 1994. They state that Laurance's pathogen may be valid but such conclusions should be first tested thoroughly.
