Abstract

The article presents the vegetation survey of the Southern part of the Swiss Valley located at the border of Switzerland and Italy along the north-west of Lago Maggiore. It highlights on the geographical configuration of the area such as sloping, elevations, mountain ranges and climate as well as dominant plants growing and soil characteristics. Accordingly, the area is covered with tress and shrubs, and dominant plants growing are chestnuts, beech, silver fir, spruce, larch, among others. Chestnuts are ranging from the ground up to 1000 meters elevation following pace ravine where they seek protections.
