Abstract
- Chapter 1 of the book "Secondary School Course Classification System: School Codes for the Exchange of Data (SCED)" is presented. It describes the SCED system which makes it easier to electronically maintain student records. SCED is also use to transmit coursetaking information to other information systems, school districts and the state department of education. The SCED was developed by the National Center for Education Studies (NCES) and is part of the NCES Handbook Series, which also include the usage of the Course Coding and Classification Systems.
