Abstract: The article discusses the ecnomic analysis of inequality in East Asia. It is suggested that literatures on the topic are rapidly increasing due to the renewed interest in growth theory and empirics since the 1980s, availability of data, the significant increase of quantitative techniques, simultaneous with the development of the IT software required for the application of the new methodologies.
