Abstract

This article discusses the questions that were left unanswered in James Joyce's novel "Ulysses." Most of the questions that Joyce's novel left open concern the afterlife of fictional characters, such as whether the character of Jane Eyre can ever be happy. Other questions pertaining to the main characters of the novel which continue to irritate literal-minded readers include, whether the character of Stephen disappeared for good into the good night or did he return to take up a relationship with Bloom and, whether Leopold or Molly ever resume marital relations.
