Abstract

The article discusses the authors's insights regarding the problems faced by the textile industry in the U.S. He asserts that such problems, including spots, stains and poor colorfastness, are caused by the changes in markets and technology. He looks into the steps to problem solving, which include data gathering, formulation of hypothesis, experimentation and interpretation of results. Moreover, he suggests that one should be aware of the unexpected events that might happen. He also emphasizes the importance of intuition in problem solving.
