Abstract

The article offers information on rayon, a regenerated cellulosic fiber manufactured from wood pulp. It is said that the uses of rayon includes apparel, household and automotive upholstery, draperies, lining fabrics and numerous industrial products. The blends of rayon with cotton and with wool were popular 50 years ago. However, rayon disappeared from textiles during the last 30 years, but it has recently begun to reappear, primarily in women's wear. Moreover, the paper also presented how new dyeing equipment, new dyes and new dyeing methods interact with rayon, both as 100% fiber and in blends.
