Abstract

The article discusses the musical affective experience in the U.S. Accordingly, the paper presented three reasons for discussing this topic. First, the music-affect relationship is still a major philosophical problem waiting for a plausible solution. Second, a reasonable account of this relationship is central to any philosophy of music and music education. Third, is that it offers an important opportunity to highlight recent findings from the new field of Consciousness Studies that illuminate many aspects of the music-affect problem and support the praxial concept of musical affect, which is still unknown to many in the community.
