Abstract

The article presents a course on communication and popular culture for junior and senior college students which provides students with the opportunity to explore the dynamic world of popular culture and how communication plays a significant role in the development of culture. Various elements of popular culture will also be discussed such as consumerism, music, fashion, leisure, electronic media and many more. The course aims for students to understand what is popular culture and its role in the society, recognize how popular culture is used to communicate social, political struggles and many others.
